THE GOKAI: 5 Reiki Precepts / Los 5 Principios Reiki

Like all systems that deal with energy, Reiki practitioners are extremely conscious of the positive and negative energies that swirl around them. Their life mission is to eradicate negative energies and harness positive energies for the betterment of themselves, their patients and the humanity around them.

Como todos los sistemas que trabajan con la energía, los practicantes de Reiki son muy conscientes de las energías positivas y negativas que giran a su alrededor. Su misión es erradicar las energías negativas y aprovechar las energías positivas para mejorarse a sí mismos, a sus pacientes y a la humanidad que los rodea.

Surprisingly, the 5 affirmations that are taught to Reiki students were not laid down by Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki practice. These were propounded by Japanese Meiji emperor as five guiding spiritual principles for the Japanese people.

Sorprendentemente, las 5 afirmaciones que se les enseña a los estudiantes de Reiki no fueron establecidas por el Dr. Mikao Usui, el fundador de la práctica de Reiki, sino que fueron propuestas por el emperador japonés Meiji como 5 principios espirituales para el pueblo japonés.

Dr. Usui adopted them as they helped build greater awareness in daily life.

El Dr. Usui las adoptó porque ayudaban a crear una mayor consciencia en la vida cotidiana:

1- “Just for today, I will live in an attitude of gratitude.” / "Sólo por hoy, viviré en una actitud de agradecimiento."

2- “Just for today, I will not worry.” / "Sólo por hoy, no me preocuparé."

3- “Just for today, I will not get angry.” / "Sólo por hoy, no me enojaré."

4- “Just for today, I shall do my work honestly.” / "Sólo por hoy, llevaré a cabo mi tarea con honestidad."

5- “Just for today, I will show love and respect to all living beings.” / "Sólo por hoy, expresaré amor y respeto por todo ser vivo."

Without love, there is no life. Hate is an invitation to grief. LOVE is a soothing, healing and curative energy.

Sin amor, no hay vida. El odio es una invitación al dolor. El AMOR es una energía que sana, alivia y cura.

Reiki affirmations are not in the exclusive domain of Reiki. They are universal affirmations that are the very foundations of every spiritual teaching. A person who follows these tenets will find that he/she is directly connected to the source of energy, and the more he/she gives, the more he/she receives to give.

Estos principios no son afirmaciones exclusivas de la práctica del Reiki. Son afirmaciones universales que expresan los fundamentos de todas las enseñanzas espirituales. La persona que sigue estos principios se da cuenta de que está directamente conectada con la fuente de energía y de que cuanto más da, más recibe para dar.
